Himeno Katsuragi

Today we’ll be taking an in-depth look at Da Capo 3 R‘s next heroine, Himeno Katsuragi.

Himeno is the heir to the Katsuragi family, and all the duties, responsibilities, and honor that entails. Though she was meant to inherit the family’s unique “duty” shortly after her mother passed away, her father’s efforts and good graces have granted her temporary postponement, allowing her to study at Weather Vane. She’s a very sheltered girl, often shy to most people, but always treating them politely and respectfully. She never drops that air of politeness either, until she grows very close to someone. Only her brother is close enough to her to hear her complaints and chastisements.

She takes magic fairly seriously as well, and finds great pleasure in finally being able to make friends who share her interests without keeping her magic secret. In truth, this respect for magic comes from her admiration of her mother, who always served as a good role model up until the day she passed. Himeno holds few qualms about her inheritance, and realizes her limited time at Weather Vane is but a brief reprieve before she has to shoulder that burden for the rest of her life.

Her tale is one full of laughter and friends, and she spends time with you and all of those she came to know at Weather Vane. The “sibling” divide is a difficult one for her to navigate. Despite her feelings for you, and despite the lack of blood relation, she finds it hard to move forward from the comfortable intimacy you two already share.

However, her tale also delves deep into the secrets of the Katsuragi family—the “duty” they’ve born for generations, the reasons Kiyotaka has been sent to Weather Vane, and why their father is granting them this reprieve. Moreover, her tale also explores the mysterious happenings in London when events take an ill turn.

Once the sibling divide is overcome though, she proves eager to make up for lost time, and she enjoys doing what she can to please her partner.

Himeno is voiced by Moritani Kokoro, an actress better known under her other alias for staring in roles such as Hercule Barton in Milky Holmes and Piyo-tan in Etotama.

Her reincarnation in the prologue allows her to be a bit more active in her pursuits. As a childhood friend, rather than a little sister, she’s able to express her feelings through actions much more, though her personality remains mostly the same. Her jealousy toward seeing the protagonist with other women causes her to lash out on occasion, but that’s only because she cares deeply for him.

Uh, excuse me? Is that supposed to say “without keeping her magic *secret*”?
