The Spirit Master of Retarnia Translator’s Corner

Hi all, this is the translator for The Spirit Master of Retarnia ~Conquerer of the Labyrinth~, and I’d like to say a few things about the game.

First off, it’s a 3D dungeon-crawling RPG, and one thing it has that resembles the rogue-like genre is randomly generated loot. Your playstyle in the game can also change depending on the skills you equip and the gear you find. Who knows, the support character who could only buff before might end up being a melee powerhouse if you find a good piece of equipment for her. As you play the game, you’ll find yourself fighting through dungeons, getting loot, going back to town to appraise and sell it off, and then maybe give your party members some presents to get them to like you more.

Speaking of your party members, they’re all female spirits that will help you close the portals plaguing the kingdom of Retarnia.

First we have the White Spirit, Norn. Generally, she’ll be the tank in your party, covering for allies and gaining aggro, and her personality is caring and diligent to supplement that. At home, she’ll help out around the house and cook for you. Truly wife material.

Then we have the Red Spirit, Vesta. She’ll most likely be your one of your main damage dealers with successive attacks or powerful skills. In her off time, however, she likes to go around catching bugs or do some training. Vesta is the tomboy of the group and is the kind of girl who can hang out with you like a bro… unless you want something more.

Next we have the Green Spirit, Melissa. Her role is to normally act as the healer, but with the right setup, she can be just as powerful as Vesta. She looks and acts young even though she’s the same age as the other spirits, so that makes the people around town treat as such, much to her dismay. Hopefully you can treat her as a woman, too.

Following that is the Blue Spirit, Rusalka. She’s normally the buffer and debuffer of the group, using her magic to stun the enemies or raise your party’s stats. She’s the silent, bookish one of the group, and currently, she’s really into the new kind of literature known as ‘doujinshi’ that has shown up in the human world. She also has a fondness for games. I’m sure many of you out there enjoy doujinshi and games, too.

Lastly, we have the Black Spirit, Eris. She’ll be the main source of magical damage in the game with her fire, lightning, and ice magic. She loves to play pranks and act cheeky. Compared to the other girls, she’s a lot more… assertive in a variety of ways. If you like to be teased, then Eris will help you with pleasure.

In the game, there are also H-scenes that happen when you lose to a boss. They range from a variety of things including slimes, orcs, slugs, and many others. One thing to keep in mind is that you’ll unlock them if you beat the boss anyway, so there’s no need to force yourself to lose. Also, some of the scene might be a bit… cruel, so if that’s not your thing, well, don’t lose!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy The Spirit Master of Retarnia ~Conquerer of the Labyrinth~ when it comes out, and then I hope you enjoy it again on a harder difficulty!

  1. Unlocking losing scenes by beating the corresponding boss is neat.

  2. is there a true ending to this game?
