How is everyone doing on Higurashi? I’m imagining people are on Winter Break now with more time to play. I’m glad to hear some people are actually enjoying the new BGMs more than the original. I’m already starting on checking Higurashi Kai here and there.
I uploaded a few web banners for Higurashi in case you want to show support to our release. It would be appreciated!
I’ll try answer a few questions while I’m here…
Next up, is Morisaki Nao.
I thought I’d write up a bit more detailed character intro for some of the Soul Link characters before its upcoming release. First up, is Aizawa Shuuhei.
I thought it was important to inform our customers about the upcoming release of Higurashi When They Cry.
After a lengthy and heated discussion, we have decided to release Soul Link and Higurashi uncensored with all CGs intact.
Since the opening movie for Soul Link is already available for free download on the main website, I’d like to take the time to post translations for the lyrics and other lines that show up in the movie. The theme song is “Not Found” by Uchiya Nao.
As some of you may know already, MangaGamer has given AnimeNewsNetwork 5 copies of our Higurashi release to give away. This offer is available to all new members who signed up today or choose to sign up before the contest ends on December 10th, 11:59PM Eastern Time. The copies given away will be of the official release which contains all 4 question arcs: Onikakushi, Watanagashi, Tatarigoroshi, and Himatsubushi. For those of you who do not win the contest or are too young to enter the contest, the game will also be available for purchase on December 15th for 36.95 Euros.
Hi, Evospace here. I’ve been helping Mangagamer.com with their translations since Da Capo.
After spending a good 3 weeks of sleepless nights, I’m finally done with the translation check/proofreading of Higurashi When Whey Cry! Now with only the re-insertion and testing process awaiting, the release date should be announced soon!!
You can meet Mion soon!
(A Mion fan)
Also, as a test case we are doing something very special for this release, so please look forward to it…!
As for the Soul Link CG issue…
We are taking this issue seriously. No decision is final yet!!
There’s been a lot of talk lately about the CGs removed from Soul Link. I finally received some word, and for now at least the official statement is as follows:
“Thank you for your feedback regarding Soul Link‘s CG.
A total of 6 CGs from the game will be removed due to having an arguably underage looking character naked.
Because we don’t want to risk getting the law in the way of our future releases, we have decided to cut this CG from this release.
Just to reassure you, no part of text was removed from the game.
I hope you understand that it was a difficult decision made under the current circumstances, and if this issue comes up again in the future, we will be sure to let you know before the release.”
So unfortunately yes, the decision to remove the CGs currently stands. If I hear any more news regarding this decision, I will post it here.
The CGs that have been removed are all CGs which featured the character Inatsuki Nanami in the nude. Though they total 6 CGs, it’s more like 4 CGs have been removed. The first is an image of Nanami in the shower with Nao. The next one is an image of Nanami in the shower, washing Ryouta’s back. The third image is simply a variant of this with her eyes closed. The fourth CG is an image of her after she climbs on bed and gets on top of Ryouta. The image is drawn from his perspective. The fifth CG is a variant of this image with her eyes half-closed. The sixth is an image of Sayaka catching the two characters in the act. In case it helps any, I would like to note that only 6 out 174 total event CGs have been removed.
Also, for clarification, the uncensored tag on the main site means that the HCGs are uncensored so you can see Shuhei’s cock or Aki’s pussy clearly without any nasty mosaics blocking the way.
This site has now gone official as the Staff Blog for MangaGamer. As you probably guessed, I am one of the translators for MangaGamer, and from what information I’ve gleaned, there are at least two of us. The projects I’ve worked on so far are Soul Link and Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia. I’m currently working on Kira Kira Curtain Call. If anyone has something they’d like to see me discuss here, feel free to ask. As a fan of these games myself, I enjoy the opportunity to discuss my work.
There are several things I want to address today. First, I want to thank Haeleth, for his hard work and forum which helped encourage me to become a professional translator, and zalas for helping me start my work on Soul Link. Without either of them, I might not be here today as a translator of eroge for MangaGamer. I hope that they both continue to help nurture and care for the community of English speaking eroge fans as I strive to produce quality translations true to the original work.
The second thing I’d like to discuss is the delay in Soul Link’s release. As some of you may know, Soul Link was supposed to be released the other day (11/30/09), but was not available on the website. After a last minute review of the revised scripts we noticed there were still some issues remaining. Once they have all been addressed, the game will be available for purchase. We want to ensure that a quality product is available to everyone.
