Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning and the Steampunk Series: A Brief Introduction
Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning is an adult visual novel set in an island academy-city off the coast of 1908 France. It stars Nikola Tesla as a super-powered 72-year-old (?) student detective, along with his long-suffering assistant, Neon Scalar. Together, they investigate a number of strange and supernatural incidents around the “Academia,” building towards the resolution of a central mystery involving the island’s “Governing Council” and a certain malevolent bell. Greetings. This is Craig Donson once again, and I hope you are enjoying A Kiss For The Petals – Remembering How We Met. The English version is a somewhat unusual case – it was made possible by a combination of fan demand and over a year of work on the Ren’Py project that would become the first English release of A Kiss For The Petals. By this, I mean that it began well before the license was finalized and even before the founding of St. Michael Girls’ School, as an ambitious fan project to improve the experience for fans of the Japanese products. Despite the quality of the content of the visual novels, the programs that delivered them were less than ideal. Continue reading
