Hello! This is Kitty-tama! Funbag Fantasy (alternatively known by its Japanese title, Kyonyuu Fantasy) is an eroge I’ve had my eye on for some time now, so when MangaGamer announced its localization at Anime Central, I felt excitement well up within the core of my very being. I had the honor of beta testing it, too! I can say with certainty that, to date, this is my favorite title I’ve beta tested. Continue reading

Today’s Tester’s Corner for Supipara – Chapter 1 is brought to you by Nurio!
Like many others, Umineko was a title that introduced me to the world of visual novels. Many people are familiar with Higurashi, whether it’s because of the anime or visual novel, and want more of the horror/mystery that its story is often characterized by. It’s not hard to come across Umineko as it’s another work by 07th Expansion, and it’s certainly a spiritual successor to Higurashi. There are even references made to the latter! Continue reading
Greetings! While this is my first time testing Higurashi, I’m also the main editor on the series and have been since starting Watanagashi almost a year ago. Let me tell you, I’m grateful for the experience, because the thing about editing a game without having played the result is that no matter how good you are, there are things you’re going to miss. The longer the game, the more those errors increase exponentially… so it’s always good to take the chance to confirm what your efforts will look like in the final product. Expert advice from a professional here to all you prospective editor folks! Continue reading
Hello everyone, I’d once again like to thank MangaGamer for letting me participate in the beta test for The House in Fata Morgana, as well as BlackDragonHunt and Ritobito for translating and editing this fantastic game. It’s the first Novectacle game to be localized and what a way to start out in the west! Continue reading
Some say that the main selling point is the all star voice acting cast, however Tokyo Babel‘s writing is what sold me on it. There was never a wasted actor who only had a few lines because their character was irrelevant. Sometimes the only thing I feel the characters are lacking are their noses in certain poses and CG graphics. Characters that show up in just one route are fleshed out and at times its hard to tell that major side characters aren’t even considered main characters. Even now I can’t decide my favorite character between the heroine Kugutsu Sorami or the side character Camael.
Hello, this is Xarrias, and this is my fifth Tester’s Corner for MangaGamer. Tokyo Babel is our first release from Propeller, and I could tell right off the bat that this was going to be interesting. I’ve always enjoyed seeing Japanese takes on Christian mythology, from Evangelion to Shin Megami Tensei. Notably, this visual novel is written by Higashide Yuuichirou. Why is this name important? Well, after finishing this, he ended up collaborating with TYPE-MOON, writing such works as Fate/Apocrypha and collaborating on Fate/Grand Order. Fate/Stay Night is what got me into visual novels in the first place, so that just made me doubly excited for what lay ahead. Continue reading
Yoho~ Rance-sama here! I’d just like start by saying that Free Friends 2 is actually a very high quality Nukige. The story and plot feel much more invested in rather than just being a means to an end for the H scenes. It really does an excellent job of getting you attached to the characters, so it can rip your heart out, stomp on it, and Tidus laugh in your face. When vndb tags Free Friends 2 with “Depression” and “Evil Route”, it’s not messing around. You have the Pure Love Route and the Depravity/Corruption Route, so all you softies out there can still enjoy your romance while the rest of us sick motherfuckers get to enjoy something so malicious and twisted that it would make even the evil otter pleased. Everybody wins! Especially the otter. Continue reading
Hello, this is Kitty-tama with my tester’s corner for Free Friends 2. This is my first (and hopefully not last!) title I beta tested for MangaGamer. It was quite an experience! Free Friends 2 is a significant improvement on the previous game in the series in every aspect. (More after the jump.)
