We’re Back!

We know it’s been a while, but we’re finally back up and running! We want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your patience and generous support.

As we mentioned previously when our payment processor went down, we won’t be able to offer complimentary Steam keys for the forseeable future. If you made a purchase of a game that came with a Steam key prior to the processor going down, you should still have access to your key. Steam keys are something we’d like to find a way to bring back in the future, but it could be quite a while before we find an adequate solution (if one even exists).

On another note, our new payment processor is a little different from our old one. Now when you check out you’ll be directed to a third-party site to complete your purchase. It looks something like this:

You’ll have to input your information on this screen to complete the transaction and then you’ll be redirected to MangaGamer.com. This new payment gateway utilizes a few different processors, so the transaction may show up on your statement as either ESR, ET or ETCS.

There are a few known bugs with the new system which should be taken care of over the next few days and there may be some unexpected issues. The payment system may experience intermittent downtime while we’re working on getting things fixed. The following are known issues with the new system:

  1. The point system is not functioning properly. Points are not being awarded for purchases (you will get them eventually) and you may lose points if you try to apply them to orders right now unless you have enough points to cover the full price of the order. [UPDATE] Points are being awarded for purchases now. Redeeming points to cover only a portion of the order cost should be working now as well.

  2. tried this two times and failed. then read it was down until 3 pm pst. which is 6 est here in MI. guess i have to wait until after work. also hope i dont get charged twice back accident.

    • Good news, I just got an email that my hard copy has been shipped so I can say this functionality seem to be working just fine.

  4. First thing after purchase I had a call from bank about suspicious activity and I had to confirm that it was me who made that purchase. Good that it work at least and I hope you will never have anymore problems with sales.

    • I always had the same problem with the old one. My bank would mark attempted purchases as suspicious activity about half the time. I was hoping it’d be different with the new payment processor. I only bought one thing so far with the new one, but I didn’t have any problems so far. It’s not a big deal, but it was/is still a pain in the butt.

  5. Had to split my order between digital vs physical goods. My bank let the first order slide, then flagged the second. Oh well, managed to get everything ordered eventually. Again, welcome back MG!!

  6. so far i still cant buy a thing. got a call from bank to fix that and its still an issue.. had a friend use his card which is from a seprate bank and still wasnt able to purchase the product i wanted

    • Try emailing MangaGamer about getting a coupon code through paypal. This is the method people typically have to do if their card doesn’t work with MG’s payment processor.
