Jeanne At The Clock Tower: Translator’s Corner

Hello, I’m ZackZeal! A series of questionable life choices and a good deal of luck has led me down the path to being a translator, where I spend 25% of my time translating h-scenes and the remaining 75% complaining about said h-scenes. And in between, I sometimes consume other mediums of JP media. 

So when I was approached with the task of translating Jeanne at the Clock Tower, it naturally made me wonder, as I’m sure some of you have, about two things. What is this game about, and why does Japanese media seem to be so focused about Jeanne d’Arc, of all historical figures? Not just Jeanne at the Clock Tower, but lots of other media franchises, big and small alike, have varied depictions of this historical heroine.

A Look Back At 2020 and the 2021 Licensing Survey Begins!

What can even be said about 2020 that hasn’t already been said? It’s been a tough year for everyone. We could probably count ourselves somewhat lucky that the overwhelming majority of our staff work remotely to begin with, so with the notable exception of conventions, we’ve been able to continue work about as normally as could be expected under the circumstances. Despite everything, we still had fourteen first-party releases this year, including Rance 01+02, Higurashi Ch.8––finishing off the Answer Arc, Imouto Paradise 3, Fxxx Me Royally!, and Room No. 9 just to name a few.

2019 in Review & Licensing Survey!

2019 was a big year for us here at MangaGamer! We announced 11 new titles and released 15 including Kindred Spirits Full Chorus, Steam Prison, Sengoku Rance, The Most Forbidden Love in the World, Hashihime of the Old Book Town, phase 1 of Ciconia: When They Cry, and Maggot baits just to name a few!
