eXceed – Gun Bullet Children
Humanity is at war against vampires and deviants. Mankind’s last line of defense is a group of children trained to wield powerful magic that can rival the demonic hordes, but at the cost of most of their lifespan. Likened to bullets of a gun, they are known as the ‘Gun Bullet Children’.
The time is NOW! A vampire invasion force has been detected in the airspace above Tokyo Portal 5. Preliminary reports indicate over 500 vampires and accompanying Killings Dolls with reinforcing hordes of deviant humans. The first line of defenses has been obliterated and the Gun Bullet Children are scrambled to launch a counter-assault and stop the invasion.
Key Features
• Original *Japanese language* “import” version with English language manual
• 3 playable characters with individual storylines
• 5 stages of bullet hell and boss battles
• Slowdown feature for precise maneuvering
• Graze system that will test your nerve and charge your super-weapon

eXceed 2nd – Vampire REX
The human powers-that-be called for the purification of mankind and the eradication of vampires and ‘deviants bloodlines’ – those born of a mix of human and vampire. And so began massive purges of the deviants that were reminiscent of the “witch hunts” of centuries earlier. Leading the genocide was the exorcist corps the “Gun Bullet Children”.
As the overwhelmingly large human armies began to obliterate every vampire and deviant community across the world, the opposing deviant armies sought to gather allies and rally back. Ria Fyle is a half-human, half-vampire girl fighting on the side of the deviants as they embark upon a turnaround strategy, the “Siege on the Holy Land’. Their plan: to lay siege upon the humans’ “Holy Land” and to destroy the Holy Lady Anhel who was the source of the human military power. This is a battle in which defeat is an option for neither army.
Featuring the renowned and addictive polarity-based gameplay system, this amazing vertical shmup is sure to please any shooter fan. The polarity and color of your character can be changed to absorb enemy bullets of the same polarity while charging the special weapon in the process and doing double damage to enemies of the opposite polarity. Every bullet absorbed charges your special weapon for total destruction. With awesome music, beautiful art, and challenging stages, this is the game that put the eXceed series on the map and has everything you would want from a shmup.
Key Features:
• No ordinary shooter – features the renowned ‘polarity gameplay’ mechanic
• Melee system takes matters up close and personal!
• Chain bonus scoring system – extra incentive to chase the score

I think the best one is Cherry three hight. Seems good, if only it had a male progagonist and you could date a girl at the ent it would be a buy right now. Althought the price make me want to buy it, althought i’m tight.
Now I don’t have to wait till Cherry Tree High Comedy Club comes to Steam, thanks for that! Plus something to tide me over till the next Touhou game.
Looks… interesting. Gonna pick them up since college is on break for 2 weeks. Need something to tide me over in the mean time.
uhhhhh….was never ever good at shoot em ups although I did enjoy them back then(while sucking at it XD).
Will be picking up Cherry Tree High, have a soft spot for life simulators n such.
Okay, playing the game right now(1 a.m.) and finding it a pain in having to figure out which key does what since the mouse can’t be used or so it seems unless there is some way to make the mouse work with the game.
Is there any info on the key configurations? I’ve confirmed , after pressing keys at random, that “x = cancel,” “c/enter=advances text,” and well basically arrow keys are for movement.
It’s late as of posting this so I’m not going to go about and play past the intro bit and figure out if there’s any other key working with the game.
Seems like those are about the only key controls… Really odd and I am guessing.
Enter/Space/C – advances text
Esc/X – cancel
Arrow Keys – obvious 😛
No idea how to save or anything. Tried all the keys on my keyboard. Tried combos involving Ctrl/Alt/Fn Keys… Absolutely nothing.
Cherry Tree High is the only one without it. Weird control scheme, but whatever works. And, I am unsure when the menu is available. Probably later. Didn’t really do much with it right now.
>Realizes Nyu media didn’t provide us a manual. >_>
Did you try looking in the ‘Manual’ folder in the game folder? 😉
Are you guys branching out into the doujin business? I thought that was something you said you would not be doing.
To me this looks more like branching into general digital distribution. If you look at Nyu media’s site, these games are also available at Steam, Capcom Store, Gamersgate, Impulse etc.
MG had nothing with translation or development of these games, they are merely distributing them (and getting a cut from it). Which is great, because in theory this provides more streams of revenue to finance in-house translations.
Also, indie/doujin market has been getting really heated up recently, with new titles getting lots of coverage, various indie bundles making tons of sales and even Playism publishing localizations in Japan, so MG trying to get a piece of that cake can’t be a bad thing.
Okay, this kind of came out of nowhere. I am a bit intrested, especially with the low prices. You might want to ask Nyu-media to add you to the available from section on their product pages.
I must say that I never understood the appeal of shooting games. I tried to play 1 touhou game but all I thought was WTF..
It’s nice to see a large comoany branching out into distributing indie games like this, smaller ones that aren’t as well known.
And at these PRICES? Well, that’s just a sweet sweet bonus! Seriously, roughly $10 for a pack of 3 games? That’s what I cal a steal.
Bought Cherry Tree, looks good apart from the lack of guidance on controls (no manual in my copy!).
Anyone know how to talk to characters?
Like Evospace replied above:
Arrow keys
Character movement, cursor movement, search
Enter/Space/C
Confirm, Advances text
Esc/0/X
Open Menu, Cancel
F12
Reset
Alt+ Enter
Toggle Fullscreen
How to save:
Talk to Harriet at the dorm
I worked it out eventually- you have to stand over tha character you want to talk to then press enter.
Have finished one play through- got 2 recruits and bad end! Time for take 2 :3
Does eXceed Collection have DRM? I know if you buy it directly from Nyu, it has none. I’d rather buy it from MG, but I’d hate for it to be an inferior version…
None of the new listings have DRM. Just purchase, download, and run from the .exe in the folder.
Nice! And it turns out that, from testing the demo versions, the games can run at 120fps if you use something like Reforce to force 120hz in fullscreen, which is awesome for a game like thi- SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! XD
Nope, no DRM.
>CTHCC
>640×480
>high quality graphics
Doesn’t compute.
Not even by 2010 standards.
Hell, even my phone’s display has a better resolution.
Also, no mouse or gamepad support, WTF. Well, it’s still possible to play it with a gamepad via Xpadder/JoyToKey/etc 3rd party software, but come on.
true 640×480 is joke nowdays, my monitor is going to explode if i switch the game fullscreen!
480p looks perfectly fine on a CRT or a 1440p LCD without a scalar. What, can’t stand the pixels? 😛
Comedy Club have hands from Capcom too??????Now I’m understand why the characters names was changed in MG’s version, blame Capcom’s for doing the same on Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban series ¬¬
But even so it’s a great surprise alongside with the VN with shmup elements series eXceed ^^
Cherry Tree High have these terrible americanised character names. Total turn off for me.
Ditto… The sprites and art are really well done for a doujin game but the localization of the names and how they totally mauled the setting by westernizing it is a total turn off
