Today’s spotlight title for the Twelve Days of Visual Novels: Free Friends.
If you’re looking for a nukige on the darker side of things but euphoria gives you pause, perhaps Free Friends might be more up your alley. After a fight with her parents, honor student Kurahashi Yui runs away from home for the night. With no friends to turn to, Yui finds herself reaching out to a dating message board, “Free Friends,” in hopes of finding a friendly ear and maybe a place to stay for the night. She ends up arranging a meeting through the service with the protagonist––who turns out to be a teacher at her school. Whether they head down the path of blackmail and coercion or unlikely happiness is ultimately up to you.
